Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Happy Hot Friday, ya'll! I got a good one for you this week. As part of my 996 resto-mod project, Project: Pepper, I wanted to upgrade the exhaust and chose Fabspeed as my fabricator. In this video I'll demonstrate the differences between a fully stock exhaust, partial mod (headers and mufflers) and a fully modded, catless experience. I'll give you an earful of exhaust audio goodness and you can be the judge on whether or not it's worth the price. You'll get my opinion at the end of the video. 😎 I hope you give it a watch! - Yogi You Tube

Nice video. I went with stock headers, FVD catless x-pipe and fisters. SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than what yours cost. With a tune, I highly recommend it. (255) Fister Sport Exhaust and FVD X-Pipe - YouTube

I got a good discount but still a lot of money for what you get.

POST 4Original post

I went with full CARGRAPHIC exhaust on my 996 1.

@Yogibara Your exhaust sounds fantastic! A shame to hear about the poor customer support from Fabspeed but the exhaust does sound great.

Damn, that Fister is LOUD! Drone?

Zero drone. Actually still pretty quiet in the cabin until I put my foot down. I did the resonator delete too on the airbox. I've done a few road trips with the car and there is no drone at all. I can listen to my radio and make phone calls without issue. It just has a lot more bark to it now without the cats. It's the great fister sound with the sound volume turned from a 6 to maybe 11.

POST 9Original post

I had the gundo hack done and it sounds good..throaty but not droning. it comes to life when you go above 4k RPM.

POST 10Original post

I didn't watch the whole thing, but at min 20:00 it sounds really nice! Is that what you ended sticking with?

Yes, I'm leaving it straight piped. I NEVER get a Check Engine light but when I look at the emission monitors it shows Cat as not completing the drive cycle. BUT in Texas we're allowed only ONE monitor to fail and no MIL on the dash. So since I put in less than 1K miles a year on this car it's staying. Thanks for watching!
