Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, putting the AC compressor back into my car (1999 C2). Came across this ground cable and cant seem to find where it connects. Anyone have experience with fitting their AC compressor and attaching this ground?

POST 2Original post

That's not a ground. It's a +12V that turns the electromagnetic clutch on and off. Had mine off last year but can't remember where exactly the connector for it is. Obviously it's somewhere as far as the wire reaches. If I'm not mistaken, it connects to a single connector.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Imo000, thanks for the reply. Was able to quickly find where to plug it in (connection right under intake manifold on the passenger side) after a quick 996 AC clutch power source google search. Appreciate the help.

POST 4Original post

Good Lord! Is that a mouse or rats nest behind the AC compressor?

Yup it's a House of Mouse for sure.

POST 6Original post

You had your AC compressor out and didn't notice that? Wow! Shop vac time...

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh man! I didnt notice that when I posted the picture. Thankfully, that is not a picture of my engine, just one I pulled off google images to show the AC Clutch connection. No mouse house for me!
