Car is a 2002 996 Carrera2 Cab Issue #1: My horn was working fine, and then I took my airbag out to install a steering wheel spacer from spacershop.com , put my airbag back in, and now my horn is not working. To test it out, I grounded the horn contact pad (little brass pads inside the steering wheel) to confirm the the horn circuit is working perfectly. I've tightened and readjusted the airbag on to the steering wheel numerous times, but no matter what I do I cannot get the horn to work once the airbag is secured back on to the wheel (yes I turned the battery back on). The crazy thing is the steering wheel horn works when the ignition is off!! But once I turn the car on and then press the horn, nothing happens. Issue #2: I've been tinkering so much with my airbag/wheel, that now the airbag failure light is on too. Can I clear this at home? Or do I need a shop to clear this error code? Does anyone have any tips? Thank you in advance

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
