Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok, I know this might be impossible to describe, but has anyone experienced an annoying rattle/squeak coming from the rear passenger side area? Only audible when the car is moving - even at crawling speeds under 10 mph. I hear it when I have a passenger next to me or when driving alone. I've tried to fold down the rear seat; I've fussed with the passenger seat; I've fussed with the seatbelt adjustment on the B pillar; I've pressed and held the seats, rear speaker grill and I can't figure it out. Any ideas? It's not particularly loud but definitely driving me nuts. Thanks!

Oh man YES. It hasn't happened to mine in a while but yes I know the exact noise. It doesn't sound interior related, it sounds mechanical but not suspension like. I also can't describe it. For me it only seems to happen after I've been driving the car for a long amount of time

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Optionman, I was thinking maybe the motor Mount as well.

POST 5Original post

Does the sound change at higher speed or when coasting?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll have to check. I definitely hear it at low speeds cruising around town. And I heard it yesterday as I was merely driving in my parking garage at work - going 8 or 9 mph. I stopped the car - no noise. Started driving again and it was there.

POST 7Original post

might also check if it occurs with windows down vs up, help eliminate one possibility. good luck

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good idea on the windows. My drivers window opens with a bit of a clunk when it gets to the bottom.

POST 11Original post

You sure it's not in the headliner behind the sunroof? Mind sounds like its coming from the right rear until I push up on the head liner behind the sun roof.
