I haven't heard about this. Is this possible? Regular 996 coupes are cheap now. The 993 is starting to be way too much money. I know the 993 engine/tranny is more expensive than the 996 and other options. I want an air cooled 996 dammit.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Not without installing an air cooled engine. And good luck with that.
You can if you wanna contact the new owner about selling his. It's based on a '78 911 SC model IIRC. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archi...PE-TINA-117415
Be sure to install a hand crank starter and some solid rubber tires, too.
I think this would be very difficult to register. I believe many places require that the engine in a vehicle is the same year or newer than the chassis. This is why you will see classic Chargers with a modern Hemi, but no the other way around.
I have been thinking about a air cooled Boxster and calling it a Boxteen.
I've been working on an aircooled M96 engine :-)
