Hey Porsche Heads, I have a C4S 02'. Blew the engine and yes it is a long heart breaking story... The 3.6 to 4.0 rebuild is well underway. Need some advice on engine parts for best performance. Will be tracking it. Have the deep sump oil pan and Vision Motorsport advised Carillo Rods. Any suggestions on Pistons etc would be much appreciated. Also what price should the Carillo rods be in California? Thank you Nick :-)

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

JE pistons woudl be my recommendation. You'll need linres also and you should probably look at LN Engineering as they sell piston / liner kits
CP pistons all day. I'd get the ARP studs for the crank carrier, as well as the arp head studs. The rest will be an analysis of the failed parts. I'd take a good look at calico bearing coating as well.
Is Vision doing the rebuild for you? If so I hear good things about them. If you are going LN they are also very good. Carillo rods will cost about $1,500. I am currently doing a 4.0 rebuild and have JE pistons with Carillo rods. These rebuilds get pretty costly fast. I am no expert but you may consider K1 connecting rods for about $900. Both are forged, and I saw another rebuild on this forum and the K1 rods looked nice. Looking back I would be a conservative with spend when possible. With rebuilds it is very easy and fun to add a bunch of extras. On my rebuild I am probably over $25K in parts alone. Have fun and good luck...
