Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

What is this, and is this clunk noise okay? You have to listen close... You Tube

POST 2Original post

Sounds like worn bearing or bushing to me. I can't image that could be ok. I wouldn't call it a "clunk", more like a rattle. Does the part exhibit looseness fore and aft?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No fore or aft movement. What is it?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Power steering pump - 996-314-050-02 Okay, so that's what it is, but is that okay?

POST 5Original post

On most 996s there are 4 accessories driven by the belt, that one is the power steering pump. If its not leaking, exhibiting play and doing what it should I'd say it's fine. I would guess if I went and checked mine it would be the same.

POST 6Original post

I had my airbox out so I checked and yes exactly the same.
