Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I can graph the 02s later --- granted what I installed are all used parts but i took them cars that ran and drive with no problem.
Leading evidence: 'Install are all used parts' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'coil.....believe it or not' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuel pressure' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I replaced front 02s with known good and swapped cats with no change

I replaced the fuel pump mechanism with a new AEM 50-1200 pump that's E85 compatible, and when I pulled the accordion hose off the original pump I must have cracked the straight part that goes over the pump output.

Suspected cause
Also, once i had a MG that wouldn't pull well and there was no miss and it turned out to be the coil.....believe it or not

Suggestion
I compounded my stupidity by replacing the accordion hose with a piece of non-submersible hose "just to get by" until I got a piece of the proper submersible hose.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
37 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
Rennlist: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.
0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

ok guys I am at my wits end. I do not tap out often but I am close.....
2003 911 base/manual
The car has no power under load. At idle it revs up and sounds great/amazing.
I go drive it and it just has not nu*s, I dont know how else to describe it
It feels like it is being restriced
I have:
Swapped out cats and 02s
I have swapped out the MAF
I have swapped out the fuel pump (regulator)
New coils and plugs (Not China crap)
I am a fairly competent DIY'er but I am a little out of my comfort zone, looking for any help
The last time codes set I had
P0130/Porsche code 10, 02 Sensor circuit
P0150/P code 18, 02 sensor circuit (so both front 02s circuit codes)
P1126/p code 356, 02 adaption
P1133/p code 358, 02 adaption for the other bank
I replaced front 02s with known good and swapped cats with no change
I cleared the codes, and they have not set since the last clear
But the car drives the same
lack of nu*s
I have a Durametic so I can get data if anyone has any ideas
You replaced the fuel pump or regulator? What about the fuel filter???
Check your fuel pressure with a real pressure gauge under FULL LOAD ONLY...report back..
@Porschetech3
on a 996 the reg is built into the pump (so new reg)
under load only, at idle its fine
have NOT changed the FF
Do not have a fuel pressure gauge
Not certain i understand your question?
Add: Maybe you should start with a more concrete definition of what you mean by loosing power. Do you mean that it revs just fine in neutral, but doesn't rev under load , or that it does rev under load but the power doesn't get to the wheels?
@GC996
it is manual, so when it is in neutral the engine does no bog, sounds perfect, under load (in gear and on the gas) the car feel like it has no power.....
@Porschetech3
I can probably get it pulled today. BTW, the .2s do not have an inline filter (filter is in the pump and Porsche says it is lifetime)
U should be able to graph the o2 sensors. Im curios on what the signal wire voltage is. Does it hang at .46, the no signal default, or if its jumping around ftom 0-1v.
there have be several posts on bad maf sensors lately, even bad out of the box. Just my shot in the dark but listen to p-tech because he has seen it all.
i think he is leaning toward a cracked ir slipped pick up tube in the tank, a common issue after changing the pump.
@De Jeeper
I can graph the 02s later --- granted what I installed are all used parts but i took them cars that ran and drive with no problem. The fuel pump is tricky so maybe I kinked a hose. I do have another one (fuel pump) I can try but I want to ck fuel pressure 1st
@Porschetech3
what are the fuel pressure specs?
You would think low fuel pressure would cause ECU faults and generate codes. Slipping clutch? Does it rev high and nothing happens or does it feel like it's going to stall?
Revs just fine in neutral...
A better definition behind what down on power means, when and how would help. Does it rev when in gear but feels restricted. This could also mean clutch or differential. Tough to call without having more info, but right now it's just a bunch of guesses at best.
His description seems pretty good to me. Its not making power when loaded. Its like driving a car at 11k feet or when the cat is clogged. Maybe we can see the problem in the air/fuel ratios? It may not throw a code if its not out of range long enough. Or if it is a fuel delivery issue it wont trip a code.
My car did exactly this when there was a split in a fuel line in the tank.
Idled fine, would rev in neutral all you wanted. Fuel pressure at idle was fine, about 3Bar. On the road it could barely get to 35 MPH before it ran out of power. No codes were thrown.
Eventually the line broke completely and it wouldn't even start.
PRF, very interesting. Another part to add to the refresh list. How did the problem develop on your turbo? All of a sudden or was it a slow progression?
yeah I had a similar thing happen to a bmw. Also, once i had a MG that wouldn't pull well and there was no miss and it turned out to be the coil.....believe it or not
I brought it on myself. I replaced the fuel pump mechanism with a new AEM 50-1200 pump that's E85 compatible, and when I pulled the accordion hose off the original pump I must have cracked the straight part that goes over the pump output. Over the next couple days the crack turned into a split and the split kept getting bigger.
I compounded my stupidity by replacing the accordion hose with a piece of non-submersible hose "just to get by" until I got a piece of the proper submersible hose.
Don't do this.
One day later (!) the non-submersible hose turned into jelly and popped of the new pump's output fitting while I was accelerating out of Turn 2 at Lime Rock. I coasted into the grass and got towed back to the pits, embarrassing. Then I got to fix it again.
IMHO, many names for the same thing. ECU engine control unit - ECM engine control module
Toe mate Toe - Toe Mot Toe
Technically, ours is the BOSCH Motronic DME
Right, in the words of Andy Griffin "splain yourself" !! Inquiring minds want to know.
Especially the one who has been fixing everything on m96 for over 20 years and hasn't seen this particular scenario with a DME/codes
What.
This.
EDIT: Found it.

Looks like the poster sells 996's on BaT regularly.

Hey GRIEHL.
Don't have a problem with trying to help out a 996 owner. In fact, I enjoy it. But next time you come on RL to ask for help, don't make it so fn difficult to get answers from you so we don't have to waste so much fn time on your behalf flipping cars.
Prolly a fix for the next car that he's preparing for BAT.
Maybe he's too busy fixing cars to post how he fixed it.
... yeah, I don't believe it either.
Griehl, please post your findings. Don't be a taker.
I think it's fair for the 996 RL community know that Geoff owns a dealership in Savannah GA and regularly resales Porsche cars based on posts on Facebook. This is public knowledge, but maybe not known here on Rennlist.
