Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

PENTOSIN IS ALL YOU WANT TO PUT IN THERE
Porsche, audi, VW, BMW, RR, Bentley, and a host of other european cars use a mineral oil based power steering fluid, not the synthetic stuff that is used in most american cars. The OEM Porsche PS fluid for the 996 is Pentosin CHF 11S. If you have a problem finding the Pentosin brand, then just pop down to your local VW parts counter, and purchase some of the VW branded PS fluid. It is exactly the same thing. The key is that it is green colored. The other thing you might try is if you just need just a little, and you are on good terms with your Porsche service shop, see if they will just give you some to top off the reservoir. I asked my local shop for a little, and he gave me a can that that was 3/4 full that he had on his bench. He got a bottle of wine for Christmas!
Napa Auto Parts sells it 29.99 a liter bought some last nite. Thanks

Old post but it helped me tonight - Pentosin has been bought by Fuchs so it is now: Fuchs Titan CHF 11S Hydraulic Fluid (Formerly Pentosin CHF 11S)
