Hi Folks, My previous 996 has a black interior with the hard back sports seats painted silver (same as body). However my latest 996 has a metropole blue interior with the same seats. I was wondering if anyone has a metropole interior on a silver car, with the backs colour coded? Or if you think it won't look right, what would you suggest? Maybe a gunmetal grey? Any photos much appreciated. Keith

I dont like color matched interiors, and when in doubt, always bet on black.
I would agree on a yellow car or maybe red, the colour is too bold. But IMO silver in a silver car is nice. I know the 997's have a darker silver/grey colour on their hard backed seats. Anyone used this on there 996? Particularly interested if your interior is metropole.
My center console is painted seal grey (or is it slate grey?) the same as my car. I think it looks amazing, and definitely makes the interior look 'higher end'
I did the painted thing before on previous cars and over time, they do scratch if you're not careful. In my case I often tote around my kids in the back and they leave foot prints on the seat back. I plan on vinyl wrapping my seat backs and also my center console this summer. It's probably going to be CF or brushed aluminum for me personally.
^I might look to do the same this summer. Keep us posted on your results.

I don't think shiny painted plastic makes the interior look high end...in fact the opposite, but i guess its a preference
I just love this!

I've got the same problem. The whole family jumps in the car to go for a drive and I am worried about scratching if I paint the seat backs. Is the vinyl something you are going to install yourself? Has anyone else vinyl wrapped a center console or seat back? Just wondering how the finish looks.

There are a few handful of vinyl wrapped center consoles floating around somewhere. I don't know the threads off the top of my head at the moment. I haven't seen any vinyl wrapped setbacks though yet. Edit: here's one Beauty of it is it's reversible if you decide to return it to stock or you can change it up or reapply if it becomes damaged. I do think the matte cf weave looks decent instead of the shiny oem cf personally.
Midnight Blue. goes nice with the black and grey.
Vinyl wrap in carbon looks great. Might actually see about getting them done in a gunmetal alloy effect vinyl.
Found a photo of my old 911 seats
How did you do this? is this a wrap or an attached hard shell? Is this paint? Any guidance or suggestions are appreciated.
