Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am looking at this car on autotrader.....and it has an aftermarket aero kit or so I think so. Is any of it OEM? It appears it has a turbo style front end, not sure about the side pieces and never seen the little tail on it. Thoughts? Love the color of the car!

POST 2Original post

the front bumper is an adapted 996 turbo bumper, definetely not oem, the side skirts might be oem from facelift 996, but looking at the front bumper I'd say those are replicas as well.

POST 3Original post

Fiberglass front turbo bumper, FRP or poly gt3tek mk2 Sideskirts, amberoctemy done, aftermarket tail pipes, generic rear spoiler add on.

POST 4Original post

So after a 968 and a 944 turbo you're looking to add a 996 to the fleet? See you back on the D3 forum!

POST 5Original post

I have heard rumblings about the front spoiler needing to match the rear spoiler - i.e. a turbo front bumper should have the corresponding turbo wing - so the car is properly balanced. I don't have any idea if this is true, and if so, to what extent it's true (i.e. the balance is upset, but only at 180MPH).

POST 6Original post

I like the kit, it looks better with that bumper than the OEM. That being said, I also have an aftermarket front bumper and prefer it to the OEM front bumber

Yea....I put the 951 up for sale last night on craigslist....I'm thinking I don't need three sports cars right now. Would sell the 968 also, I think that will be easy at my price point and mods I did to it. I have two people coming to look at the 951 tonight! Would love to sell it and then see what I can get in a 996. Really want something unique in the color department. Will keep the 73 Alfa, my son wants it....he graduates college in three more semesters.....oh wait, you've meet him before!

POST 8Original post

Sounds like a great plan - you will love the 996! I went from a 968 to a 996 and it's night and day difference (performance, comfort, handling, etc.). Hard to believe your son is nearing graduation already - he's a great kid and very responsible. He'll do great in the Alfa when it finally comes his way. Good luck in finding homes for the 951 & 968!

POST 9Original post

I think it needs more tail to balance out the big front spoiler and side skirts. My .02 cents...

POST 10Original post

although the front and sides appear to be oem, with the rear definitely not being oem i'd mirror the opinion that the entire kit may be aftermarket. i also concur the rear should balance with the front. please remove that "thing" in the rear - looks horrible. i agree with you on the color - looks great!
