Yesterday was the Kansas City area's All German car show. I'm sure there are several similar shows around the country this month. So, share your pics! I entered my 147,000 mile daily driver 996 and my new-to-me 928S4. Although neither was any threat to win its class, I thought they both showed pretty well (pay no attention whatsoever to the GT3 in the background of the 928 pic ).

Nice cars kc. Looks like you spent awhile polishing them up! We've been to a concourse in Bend, Oregon a couple of times (Oregon Festival of Cars). Its not a high stakes concourse where people sweat the detailing to great extents. There are always lots of marques present but Porsche is always well represented. Last weekend we went on a "Fall Color Tour" drive with the local PCA club. What I like best about these drives is the variety of Porsches. My only lament is that the front engined models are sorely lacking in our club. There are a few 944s, no 924s or 968s, and maybe one 928. Our ride on Saturday was the Guards Red Cayman toward the far end of the row. Note the sweet 1962 356 freshly restored and out on it's shake down cruise this day.
Spokayman - very nice! I would say the fall color tour applies not only to the leaves! Great variety of cars AND colors. I love seeing the orange and yellow and guards red. My dream ride right now is a speed yellow 996TT. But, last time I was at the local dealer, I couldn't stay away from the guards red Cayman S they had in stock - awesome Porsche that's my favorite NEW model. The 991s just seem too big & fancy to me.
Hey that 928 is blocking my view! j/k Nice cars and the paint at least from the pics on that 928 seems nice still. Did you polish both cars before the the show? That black paint looks to be in very nice condition as well.
We just had this pic forwarded to us at the auto museum by a professional photographer who wasn't aware that this was my car. I guess my old red car caught more than just my fancy. Well, either that or he was trying to capture the GT3 and the 928 got in the way!
kc, From your list of current and past Porsches, it looks like you're into Guards Red and black. I am on my third red Porsche (two Guards Red, one Velvet Red Metallic), and on my second blue car (one was Copenhagen Blau, one is Lapis Blue). And I am currently looking at another Porsche.....its also red (Ruby Red).
Yep. My 964 was Guards Red over tan, which I think is the best color combination, but I've gravitated to Guards Red over black because black interiors just hold up best over time. That's a great looking Cayman S you've got. I do like the blue cars also. Frankly, I'm not sure why I bought the 996 in black. I had a black BMW 740 that looked good and a black Jaguar XJR that was absolutely gorgeous. But, black really isn't my favorite color for a sports car - not even my 3rd or 4th choice. That's why I always tell people to buy a car based on color first. Color is the first thing you see and the last thing you see when you look at your car. I don't dislike black on my 996, but I'd love to get a speed yellow 996TT. I had a chance to buy a 2001 996TT in speed yellow over the summer for right at $25k, but I passed. It was, of course, high mileage, but high mileage doesn't scare me. It was also a tip, but I've heard the tips in the 996TTs are actually very good transmissions. Plus, it would have helped me sell it to the wife (who can't drive a stick even though she grew up in Europe - go figure).
I had three black cars, that was enough. Black is too much of a high maintenance color and requires constant washing. White and silver are my go to colors for the future. Wash them once every 3 months and they still look good.
Early morning trip to get donuts and hot cider.
KC-944, That's a nice shine you've got going. I can't tell from the photo if that's black or dark blue?? Though they look very nice, I've avoided black Porsches because black is so hard to keep looking good. But the Lapis Blue 996 is actually so dark that I almost might as well have black. The Copenhagen Blue 944 I had several years ago was a very dark blue, non metallic color. It looked like a smoky black in most light. For some reason it wasn't too hard to keep shined up tho. '84 944
KC-944, nice pic. Do you have any pics from the show on Sunday? That was the first time I've done anything with the KCR-PCA, even though I've been a member for 2 years. But, I do read der Sportwagen. I take it you got the 951 sold. Wayne Carini would be proud of you! Oh, and LET'S GO ROYALS!!!
I love this picture! I don't know why it just looks really cool. '84 944

LOL. I've found that if I take enough photos in different times and locations, eventually I end up with something unique. I've never shot a car before or after this in a snowy environment, but I think that is part of the appeal.
