Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anyone seen any examples of 996's with a GT3 seat on the driver's side only? Someone locally has a red GT3 seat available, and I'm wondering how it would go with the stock passenger. It's pretty unusual to come across these seats in Boxster red... Seat for sale: My interior:

POST 2Original post

I've seen it, doesn't look bad and the passenger doesn't have to suffer trying to get in and out of a Gt3 seat which also isn't as comfy.

POST 3Original post

I would say go for it only if you have the aero kit.. Your interior looks more luxury than sport so IDK how it would look with the basic c2 exterior.

POST 4Original post

It is a common practice with the air-cooled crowd in earlier Porsches. Excellence magazine has done several stories showing mis-matched front seats. I think it looks good, and only a discerning few will actually notice. I say Do It!

POST 5Original post

Do you track the car? I've done a similar seating arrangement that works well and looks ok. But it's a pain in the *** (hehe) every time you get in and out. If I didn't track my car, I wouldn't have it.

POST 6Original post

Isn't that how Gator has his setup on his 996?

I haven't had it on track yet, though I've done a bunch of AX. I just think they look great. Maybe my view would change if I actually had to get in/out of them on a regular basis. My car is just for fun, not a dd.

Then go for it!! What's the worst that can happen? - you don't like it, put the stocker back in and sell the GT.... probably for a profit!

POST 9Original post

Go for it man! Those seats are gorgeous. And if it bothers you that much, you can take the seat out and search for a passenger seat over time.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Of course it happens that I need to go out of town for a few days. We'll see if the seller still has it when I get back. Can't imagine a single red seat will go too quickly...
