Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im currently looking at buying a low milage 996 C2 in Pipersville PA and Id like to get a thorough PPI before I am comfortable purchasing the car. Does anyone have good recommendation for who to contact in this area?

POST 2Original post

Dougherty Automotive in West Chester or Premier Eurocars in Devon.

POST 3Original post

Also try Larry Williams at Hiline Motorsports LLC in Pottstown: https://www.larryshiline.com Disclosure: I bought my 2004 Carrera Cab from Larry in 2017. /X3

POST 4Original post

The Porsche Specialist in Broomall. I live 1 mile from Premier Euro Car and make the trek to Broomall instead.

Do tell. Inquiring minds want to know what happened.

I think they charge too much and aren't attentive enough. The last straw was I had an alignment done by them and they just adjusted it until it was within spec, it wasn't even side to side at all. They told me if I wanted that, I had to pay by the hour. I have no problem getting a good four wheel alignment for $200 elsewhere. Kevin, the owner of The Porsche Specialist, worked for a Porsche dealer when the 996 was new and has a lot of experience with the 996, 997, 987 and even the Carrera GT.

Really appreciate all the responses. I should specify that Im buying from Import 1 Motorsport in Pipersville. These all look to be about an hour or more away and Im not sure if thats too far.

POST 8Original post

what are you looking to have done, run a DME report and basic inspection, or dropping the sump and scoping the bores, paint meter readings, etc. Porsche Lehigh Valley would probably be a safe option.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. Im mostly concerned about bore scoring, so scoping that is key. Its a 20k mile car so im not worried about cosmetics. Is there anything else that anyone suggests?

POST 10Original post

Try Phils Automotive in Emmaus. The owner and lead tech are PCA track guys and know their stuff.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That sounds like a good lead. Thanks!

POST 12Original post

Another vote for Kevin at Porsche Specialists. He's been amazing to work with.
