Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I found this in my (2006 3.6) Airbox, it looks like some sort of sound barrier? it is completely rotted and there is no description on any parts breakdown, the dealer had no clue, stating the only option was to buy a new bottom half. A. What is it and B. has anyone ever replaced it?

POST 2Original post

Same story with my 2004 C2, about 9 months ago. I recall doing some Googling and learning that the foam eventually degrades and isn't important. (I forget where I found this info.) I cleaned mine up, reinstalled the foam-less airbox, and all seems to be well. Hopefully, someone who knows the details will be along soon to supply them.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I replaced it with Genuine OEM Porsche Yoga Mat foam (Maybe she will now be a little more flexible)

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's what I figured....Thanks Atrox

POST 9Original post

Earlier cars don't have this baffle - only later cars do. At a guess it was probably added due to customer feedback.
