Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

That's fantastic!
Thanks for sharing Ahsai! Two really great guys getting together .Wonderful.I look forward to reading more about the Jake/Baz collaboration.
Didn't sound very good to me. After reading all the comments between Jake and Baz, I came away wondering if Porsche really knows what it is doing...and if the mechanical concept/design of the 911 has really reached the point of reliability diminishing returns.
So where would we be left if Jake and Baz move on to more lucrative ventures and retirement? For those of us with a long term ,limited budget commitment to the M96 and M97 the collaboration is great. Just a pity Porsche is not supporting them. Hopefully someone inside the Porsche Engineering Dept slips them a few useful bits of tech info ?
Interestingly it looks like the DFI 997.2 engine - 9A1 - is starting to show issues as it gets older, as mentioned - bore scoring in older / higher mileage cars.
Perhaps exaggerated, as no problems are getting posted or detailed and Jake seems to be moving onto the 9A2.
there's a lot of research time and money that goes into these endeavors, don't see why they would exaggerate while spending big time and coin on developing a solution.

It's called Marketing...
but not.
997.2 owners discredit anything that says there might be an issue. Wish you well with you cars - but it's just a mechanical machine - and sometimes they have problems. 997.2 can suffer from bore scoring - google it - all over the internet forums nothing to do with marketing.
I don't see it as marketing unless you truly believe Jake and Baz can convince 997.2 owner to rebuild (and resleeve) their healthy engines as a preventive measure of cylinder scoring. If the scoring already happened then Jake/Baz just provide a fix and you don't really need marketing if there are only two vendors capable of doing that in the whole world.
Interested in his 4.2L DFI from the Cayman X... waiting for pricing on that little touch to come out.
bummer... I really want a 997.2 as my next car... bore scoring doesn't sound appealing to me

over rated for sure.
DFI cars come with different problems - carbon build up on the intake valves for one......

I'm sure there will be a solution at some point...
