Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok I bought the NAPA ignition switch electrical part and the slot on the front of it doesn't line up right to the car. So I brought it back and bought one from Advance Auto and this one is also off by 90 degrees. See the picture. Am I supposed to need to remove the back on this and twist it into the correct position before installing? I haven't read that in any of the posts on doing this. Thanks. -Mag EEAA23A2-C78B-471D-AA08-EDE81AEC93CD_zpsuxdrrxr0.jpg

If this had happened in the 997 thread, the OP would have been outraged that this seemingly OEM part had been manufactured so poorly and demanded an apology from the parts manager.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got the right part and installed it today. Third time's the charm. Good news is I bet I can R&R one in under 6 minutes now. Hopefully this one lasts awhile because unless you have t-rex arms it's a pain to wedge in there to get the screwdriver on the screws. I should have had my 7 year old daughter do it.
