Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have an unidentified threaded fitting on the passenger side exhaust pipe. It's just after the pipe joins the manifold. It juts out maybe a half inch, and isn't capped off, so there's effectively a 1/2" hole in my exhaust just after it leaves the engine. Just as important: I found a plug with threads that are close enough for government work and screwed it in. Is that a mistake? Who ever heard of a 1/2" hole being standard issue on a Porsche exhaust? (Not counting muffler delete). IF someone can let me know by tomorrow 6/26/2025... my 02 sensors will have soaked in gasoline overnight and I'll be itching to put everything back together again. Thanks, Chris

You know what they say ... a picture says a thousand words.

POST 3Original post

Those are usually provided to measure exhaust back pressure. Can be plugged if not needed.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah - sorry. I actually took some pictures but I don't know how to add them from phone to rennlist.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
