Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Noticed a leak under the car the other day, haven't driven it for a few weeks. Got underneath and took some pictures, seems to be drops of oil falling around the bolts on the drivers side of the oil pan, but the passenger side of the oil pan is dry. Everything on the top side of the engine that I can see appears dry, and I can't find anything else underneath that shows oil on it. My first thought was maybe I hit something out driving that broke the seal of the oil pan, but I don't see any discernable strike marks anywhere so I'm not sure. Open to thoughts or ideas on what to check to chase it down a bit before I just start buying parts. Thanks!

POST 3Original post

The easiest way to find an oil leak is clean all that up and then look for fresh oil leak. Also, make sure the oil pan bolts are torqued to spec.

Last oil change was by a dealership this summer. No oil leaking until after the last time I drove it (maybe 3 weeks ago).

Immediately after wiping down the plate 6ish hrs later, looks like I see it at the junction between the oil pan and the engine between the middle and back bolt on the driver side here.
