Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

To have loved and lost thought it would be fun to have a thread dedicated to 996 cars that we once owned or tried to own and for one reason or another we dont own today but wonder where are they now? 😀 I have two examples I missed out on owning and wonder if the owners or someone who knows the location of these. Both were in California hopefully not casualties of recent fires. Rich

POST 2Original post

This was at a dealership close to me but was priced 10K higher than other 996s back in the summer of 2020. Definitely a unique spec

POST 3Original post

I remember seeing a purple 996 for sale in 2022 on FBMP or Craigslist with a bad motor for like $15k. This was back when I was just starting to look into ownership. I feel like it would have been a really good candidate for a 4.0 rebuild or something in hindsight.

POST 4Original post

That’s a fabulous price considering the rare specs and nice color
