Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

with 200-300 kg lighter-than-new package and 3.9 liter engine. MLR Porsche will take your donor 996 and rebuild it as completely new. You can pick all options. I am doing so from California and am biased, but the car will be essentially brand new. I sent a donor 2003 C4S to the UK (about $3,000 door-to-door shipping). Car is now stripped, acid-washed, e-coated, and fully seam-welded. It will have a carbon fiber top and hood and a 3.9 liter engine and a slew of upgrades, including RS parts and 997 features. The idea is to end up with a new 996 with my options (interior, suspension, brakes, colors, ) at a price less than a new basic 992. MLR built a 993 Speedster for me in the same manner and it is the best driving 993 I have ever been in. I am clearly touting MLR and am fortunate to afford more than one Porsche, but it is great to see others join the group of owners of these Okspecial lightweight 996s. It's only 3k round trip?!? Deets on selections? Curious what you're going to be doing with the interior.
