I bought it about a week ago... A buddy sent me a Facebook Group listing screenshot, I found the original forum post, messaged the seller, sent a deposit Sat night, flew from Baltimore to San Francisco on Monday morning to see it in person, bought the car, drove it 35 miles to Oakland, put it on a truck, flew home, and I'm supposed to take delivery of it tomorrow morning. I'm hyped! It's a 2002 Turbo Manual Coupe... Polar Silver Metallic over Metropol Blue full leather. It's my first turbo Porsche. I currently have a 914-6 (swap) outlaw car and I've had a few 993s and a 997 in the past. This 996T was a bucket list car for sure. I haven't been on Rennlist in years really... Not much 914 content here, lol. If this car used to belong to any member here, tag em. Lemme know! It's got a Marski tune, Speedtech 2.5 Quiet X-exhaust, some Feal 441+ coilovers w/ Tarett GT3 F&R swaybars, (etc), it has been RWD converted and has had a gearbox rebuild using GT3 1/2/3 gears, a GT2 slave and a Wavetrac diff... among a few other things. I'm very excited to enjoy this car. Thanks for letting me share. - Rich

Congratulations! Polar silver with metropol blue is a great combo and heated sports seats too!
Congratulations. Sounds like a real driver's car. Looks low mileage, too. Post more pics and a video of the exhaust sound sometime. I bet it sounds great.
Hey Congrats Rich! Nice to see you are still in the car scene. Will always remember you by your Silver MK2 GTI!!! Hope all is well!
That’s awesome. Congrats. I have a couple Porsches and a 996 Turbo has been on the wish list for a long time. 996 Turbo is going to be a long term Porsche keeper for sure !

Hah, hell yeah. I am building another Mk2 but its Gold Metallic, lol. Itll sit nicely in the garage with the silver 914 and now this new (to me) silver beast.
Congrats! I'm on a hunt for a 996 turbo, what a great car, feels amazing to drive nice analog... Prefer the feel of 996 to 997, even love its aesthetics, I think it still felt like a link to the earlier feel before electronics sie and weight diluted the experience
Welcome to the club Rich! Looks like a keeper!

Thank you. Yeah it's pretty great. I went from a 993 to a 997, and for years I thought the interior of the 996 was dated... but I've come around. I'm ready to embrace the 996 life, lol. I do genuinely love the exterior, headlamps and all. The sport seats were a requirement for me so I'm glad to have those. I definitely like a more analog car. I'm excited to enjoy it.
Ooh jealous - my 996 is my favorite place to be and those turbos are amazing - I miss mine, long gone. So much more character than my 997 turbo - and you have a great interior color.
Congrats! The 996 Turbo will be my next one for sure, currently enjoying a recently acquired 996 C4S.
