Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Everyone, I have a 996 c2 coupe and have a question on the rear wing/spoiler. How much shake/rattle/vibration should be visible when driving? Right now, when I look in the rearview mirror, it doesn't look bad until I hit 70+ on the highway, where there then is a decent visible vibration. I've looked at the spoiler in my garage and it all seems tight and there isn't any play, so I'm not sure if that movement is just bounce from the back end of the car (which might mean I need to fix my suspension). But, I also don't want to have bad or breaking spoiler. Anyone have insights here?

POST 3Original post

You don't have a clam shell. That's part of a cabriolet. You're probably referring to the pop-up spoiler. I can't help you with that as the spoiler isn't visible to the driver in a cab.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Apologies - for some reason I thought the clamshell was the nickname for the smaller spoiler on the 996 but just googled the term and get where I was wrong. That said, anyone have insight into a vibrating rear spoiler at speed?
