Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey gang: https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...coupe-57k.html I am selling my 996, in case you might know someone who is interested. Thankx for looking. R\ Scott

POST 2Original post

Great looking car. If you aren't in a hurry, leave on Rennlist until you get your price and then put it on BAT in the spring if it hasn't sold.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Slakker- what does BAT stand for....*feeling a bit stupid here* And yes, NOT in a rush to sell her.....hoping for a new RL home........

BAT: http://bringatrailer.com/ 996's seem to sell at very strong prices there.

keeping this listing on the first page

POST 9Original post

Bumped.. Scott any action on the car so far? Seems like there are several new members here searching for cars. Albeit they posting higher mileage examples. Considering the 57K miles Id definitely be interested if I was in the market. Good luck amigo.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

^ Thankx Buddy.... one tire kicker on the left coast.......

+1 57k on a 2003 is perfect, not a garage queen but not too many miles

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

^ Thankx! The right person will come along...in the meantime, she is sleeping in the garage waiting for her new space to get finished.........

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Happy New Year......... bump

POST 15Original post

Just for comparison, I had called on this the other day. Guy said he had a full price offer from someone coming this Tuesday to PPI the car. 03 Targa with 57k miles. It's only been on CL 5 days. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/5934079154.html

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 13851580

Then the asking price on the Targa was too low...

POST 17Original post

Maybe. Depends how quickly he needed it sell it. Could also hope for a bidding war by pricing it aggressively.

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 13851598

Those two cars are apples and oranges......no comparison...The Targa looks to be a queen that's driven sparingly while Scott's car albeit the same miles was driven to its potential and no doubt maintained very well. I'd go with a known well maintained car any day.

POST 19Original post

All depends what you are looking for. Some folks like modded cars and others like bone stock untouched.

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

@ Bash Hat: I get the "unmolested," untouched, virginal car....but for your own piece of mind, if you are still looking to pull the trigger.......and I don't care if you are not interested in my car, for your own enjoyment for your "new to you car,": the IMS issue will run you some coin, a car that is now 13+ years old may need cats, soon.... the water pump is something that needs to be addressed, as the impeller fins breakdown, can dislodge pieces and clog the water jets, mess up a motor.......clutch? OAS, etc., regardless of what you want, you should make sure ALL the maintenance was done......it will save you $$$$ in the future, as the 996's are prone to certain things........GL with your search...... P.S. Not sure my car would even work for you, as the replacement cats might not pass CA smog inspection, as I am not so sure they have the CARB complaint sticker now required ........I'm sure you were already on top of this......GL in your hunt...this forum will be a great resource....even when you compare apples and oranges.......

POST 21Original post

Thanks Country911. I agree with everything you stated above and I know it's an apples to oranges comparison. Just trying to demonstrate that an aggressively priced car could get a bidding war started and bring in more $$ than list price. I have an agreement with a seller out of state for his 996. In 2013, he had IMS, RMS, water pump, clutch, flywheel, low temp thermostat, M030 suspension plus a boat load of other items done and the car looks pristine. It is pending a PPI which is being done this Thursday. If all is well I'll be trucking it out to LA. Fingers crossed... GLWS. You clearly have a well sorted 911

keeping this listing in the forefront......

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

okay guys, looks like we are close to sending her out for adoption to an RL'er for her new home. Although, this is bittersweet, I am ready......PPI, is the next step.

POST 27 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

PPI was done today..... she passed with flying colors! Now we are working on the adoption papers......Glad this is going to be headed to an RL'ers home, shortly. I sincerely hope you guys give him a warm welcome.....

POST 28Original post

Great news! Hope the "adoption" is final soon.

POST 29 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thankx Pete! I think it will take about a week, for the paperwork to go back and forth, for him to get his NJ tags so he can driver her home......weather permitting. Bittersweet, but I will still hang out here............does this make me a soon to be lurker?

Prospective GT3 buyers get a waiver on that. Good luck with your search & sale-

POST 32 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
