Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My first impression when I saw this video was that this car has P-car design blood. $45K - $60K for a Karmann Ghia? Great design. You Tube

No way. That's the real deal (I think).

POST 6Original post

In the second half of the video the "headlights" are tinted black, the whole front end shape is different, and there are red brake lights facing forward with BMW kidneys under the crash bar. AI slop. Even if the weird kidney design were a thing, nobody puts red lights facing forward none the least because it's illegal in most jurisdictions.

POST 8Original post

It says Karmain Ghia, there are two melted hood badges, along with one normal looking one. Theres different looking rear ends. Steel bumpers would never pass modern safety standards. Yep, AI garbage. Too bad, it might actually sell.

POST 10Original post

Not real but still cool looking, Ive seen a few videos like this before

BUT....... the internet said it was true! Hahahahahahahahaaaa

POST 14Original post

Its winter back here on the East Coast. The cars battery is plugged in, there is about four hours worth of shoveling to open the Porsche garage, and the roads have a coating of ice along with salt and calcium to feed the tin worms, and I am seeing a Karman Ghia resto...Sure, it was a vaporware design. However, whether one likes AI designs or the concept isnt the real question. Perhaps it reflects a growing segment of Porsche nostalgia, people who feel that the current vehicles have grown in length, overall size, proportion, and price. The concept of a sports car or roadster seems to have become a somewhat insulated cocoon of speed. Do I love my Porsche? Yes, but there is this part of me that wants something more in line with the simplicity of the old 356 or 911, less insulated but meets all the requirements of emissions and safety mandates without cashing in a few tax-free bonds to pay for the privilege of having the dealership wash and wax my wallet! However, I think there is a growing market for a 996 outlaw, somebody like Rod Emory. I still hope the keyboard designers will develop something better than this Ghia resto. Would I be swayed to purchase or invest my car to make a Rod Emory type of 996 that goes back to basics? Perhaps.....
