Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, I recently acquired a 2004 C4S 6 speed that had been sitting for quite a few years and have finally been able to get it out and drive it a bit after quite a bit of time in the shop getting it going. I noticed last night that, with the car off, a sort of grinding/creaking noise while depressing the clutch petal. It is coming from the rear of the car, that much I can tell, and it almost sounds like a spring or small "gear" of some sort that is rubbing on something. I did not notice it all weekend while driving, but that could be due to the enging and road noise. The clutch and IMS only have about 2k miles on them and the car itself ony has about 23k on it. Anyone come across this? Thanks!
