No affiliation... My son and I went to the Daytona historical races in mid-November and I stumbled across this bad-boy parked in the infield with a "For Sale" sign on it. Meant to post it here a while back and kind of forgot about it. Sorry! Special shout out to fellow RL member Surroues, who met up with me just north of Orlando (in his beautiful 996.2 C4S) and was kind enough to not only swap his black floor mats for my Savannah Beige mats, but also gave me ticket/parking pass to get into the event. Thanks again! I owe you a

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Very nice!
funny how the 996 gt3 cup cars (they're listed FS here on Rennlist every now and then) are so much cheaper than the 996 street cars, I assume because of the costs associated with operating them
That and 996 cups kind of fall in a gap. They generally have to compete in the same class as the 997 cups but have a hard time keeping up.
As an owner of 2 996 Cups and 2 996 street cars just a little info 996 Cups are moving up in value as they are the last Cups with an 6 speed tranny as 997.1 Cups went to sequential and 991s are now paddle shifters. All factory built Porsche race cars are a great investment over the years, and 996s do not run in the same class as 997 Cups in PCA GTC3 versus GTC4. Rich
I thought I read that they did on the racing forum but didn't verify. Thanks for clarifying.

I'm so jealous; they sound amazing. Thanks for the info. But correct me if I'm wrong, the rebuild costs for the engine and transmission put it outside the budget of us mere mortals who would just buy one for HPDEs (or illegally driving to cars n coffee )
The 996 has special "Cup" cars? Lawd, I'd love to see that... I still can get mine to operate right!
That's a 2003 GT3... Just two years later I was at Indy for the USGP (the one where all of the cars with Michelin tires pulled into the pits after the formation lap) and one of the "other" races that took place that weekend was Porsche Cup. I just looked through my entire folder of pics and they were all 997 GT3's by then... Here's a few examples from that race, since we're talking GT3s here.
