Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just wondering, what makes iron cylinder sleeves not work ( from what I read on this website) with our m96 engine . It seems theres a lot of aluminum engines with iron sleeves and I see the subaru WRX engines have an aluminum case with iron sleeves and they have a great reputation with reliably putting out impressive HP or have I misread something. I know LN Nickies are the best.

Have a look at this thread, particularly post #17, 35, : https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...000-miles.html

POST 3Original post

Hi Herman, How's the Range? :-)) Funny seeing you here. I started a thread several years ago on RR.net on RR/Porsche nuts. Seems there are quite a few of us. Much better combination than a 911/Cayenne. Wimp car (ducks and runs out laughing).

POST 4Original post

so, no issues with properly installed ductile sleeves? That seems the preferred route for longevity.

That's not necessarily my takeaway from rereading that thread.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
