Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I do not have PSM on MY '99 996. I want to relocate the spoiler switch to the in dash version but in the instructions it speaks of attaching the tail switch light to the PSM. Obviously I cannot do this as I do not have PSM. Do I have to do this? This is step two in the modification instructions for the second part of the mod. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...-relocate.html Thank you

Ok, I think I see the confusion. In the instructions, where it says to "wire to the tail swtich light", it means wire to the tail swtich ...lights. The outer pins on the switch are for the background illumination of the switch itself, not tied to the tail lights of the car, or specific to PSM. Your choices are to leave the 2 outer wires off, in which case the switch wont light up when you have the headlights on, or find another switch in the area and wire the outers to it (assuming its a switch that lights up and has similar action), which will provide illumination when the dash lights are on. You could do some probing with a voltmeter to be sure about which switches are viable options. Your other option is something like this (which I did), which gives you an indicator light to show when the spoiler is up/down in addition to providing manual control; I initially just did the manual dash switch as you are goin... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spoiler-cont...item3d0e6a2276 Hope this helps
