Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have noticed a random oil drip under the engine. A drop every once in a while. Upon further investigation, I noticed there some oil buildup on both sides of the engine. What is here? Thoughts on where the oil is leaking from?

POST 2Original post

If your car is an '02 or older, the first pic looks like oil leaking from the AOS spring loaded vent on the passenger side cylinder head. The second pic looks like a leak from the AOS way up directly above.

POST 3Original post

What about the vario solenoid seals they can leak aswel?

That's true. Now I look at the photos more carefully, I saw that the engine is a 3.4L.

Looks a lot like my oil leak on the left (driver's) side of the engine. I've got oil on the Variocam cover and I'm almost certain that the culprit is something along the lines of a solenoid seal. I've got the same symptoms as OP also ... small leak, drops of oil on the floor every few days.
