Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi - I had an interlock on my Porsche Boxster S 2000 (has 12,600 miles - no typo). I left the top down, it flooded the car about two inches towards the back. The car would not start. Mechanic said once the interlock was gone, the car should start. Just got it home. Started and is not restarting. Same issue I had before device was removed. Any thoughts on battery vs alternator vs total electric? I appreciate any immediate advice before I get taken to the cleaners by dealership/mechanic.

If the immobilizer module for car is damaged - it's located on the floor under the driver seat - it could be the cause of your starting woes. Cabin flooding has killed many of them. ECUDoctors offers repairs/exchanges, as well as a waterproof housing so you don't have to do it again in the future.
