Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

tiptronics have the 3rd rad on C4S.
is that 2002 through 2004?
my 2005 C4S tip only has two
From what I've learned, the c4s can't have the third radiator.

in fact all 996 mk2 tiptronics have the 3rd radiator. C2 C4 and C4S As far as I know the 3rd radiator was also a part of the X51 package.

Maybe...but not on the Anniversary Edition which has the X51 package.
Because they are cooler than the rest?
My C4 has the third radiator, as of a couple of weeks ago. It's been pretty cold out but I do notice generally lower coolant temperatures. Not sure if they're attributable to the 3rd rad or the low temp thermostat which I had fitted at the same time. Hoping for cooler a/c once summer comes around again.

Well, my 2005 C4S tip certainly does not have a third radiator.
Is your 2005 C4S a 996? Did adding the word "certainly" make this post that much more meaningful than the first post where you stated the same thing? Just curious.

agreed, the third rad is standard on the Mk 2 tips. not sure why the anniversary ed wouldn't have it as well.
Quotes source post: 13781795
MY designations in Europe are different than in US - do you have a 996 or a 997?
Quotes source post: 13781881
"Standard" on what? Responses so far would indicate it is not standard.
I don't think anyone has said that their 996 tip didn't include a third radiator. That's what he is calling standard. The gentleman with a 2005 actually has a 997 and isn't even in the right forum. The fact that the 40th AE doesn't have it is strange because the 996 X51 upgrade includes a center rad.
Could be he has one of the last 996's
In 2005 the C4S and Turbo were 996's- all others were the 997.
Do they have a third radiator to suck up even more leaves?
Quotes source post: 13782905
The 3rd rad sits 'naked' in the middle of the front bumper. Somehow it does not suck up leaves because they cannot get stuck between something. Furthermore it is piece of cake to clean
I had no idea there were non-GT3s with 3rd radiators. The C4S already comes with the big boxes and they do plenty. With the new wing I eliminated the engine fan in the back compartment and haven't come close to overheating even on track in 90+ heat (track temp 110+)
C4S X51 and 40th anniversary do not have the 3rd because they already have the larger rads and intakes with the TT front clip.

It quite looks like a 996 to me ;-) It is indeed a quite late german delivered 996, still with the small bearing IMS (to my dismay) but the bigger 997 waterpump. So it is probably an anomaly and older 996 C4S tips might have the third radiator, but in my case it doesnt.
Once again... "996's produced and sold as 2005's", as info. 728 4S Coupe 763 4S Cabs 201 Carrera Cab 276 GT3 122 Turbo 18 GT2 129 Targa 90 GT3 Cup 127 Turbo Cab 598 Turbo S 960 Turbo S Cab Total 996 production of all models for Y 05 was 4012 Data from: Porsche 996 The Essential Companion
Fascinating. Learned something new today (besides caliper sizes for 996 and 997's).
Yes...Mr Slakker...you appear to be in gnat-mode!
