Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking for some input... I recently picked up a set of 18" turbo twists off of a C4 to use as winter wheels for my '04 C4S. The rears are ET 65, so I bought a pair of ECS 23mm spacers, no issues there. I thought I would be fine with the fronts being a touch narrower at 7.5 inches versus the factory 8.0, as the ET 50 offset is the same as the standard C4S fronts. However, I failed to take into account the larger C4S/TT calipers, and as a result I am going to need a pair of spacers up front to clear. Keeping in mind that that I have 23mm spacers in the rear, which brings the offset to 42 versus OEM 45 (or 47 for winters per Porsche), what size spacer would you guys recommend up front to, a) clear the calipers, and b) maintain the same look as the rears? 10mm? 15mm? Finally, where can I find a high-temp touch up paint that is an exact match for the red Brembo calipers? I put a couple of chips in the caliper before realizing what the issue was Would appreciate any quick feedback, as I need to get these spacers ordered tonight; winter has arrived here in Colorado!

Sheesh. I think I would go 15mm to be safe. Can you measure how far off you are to be sure? Vertex has caliper paint: http://www.vertexauto.com/ShowItem/3...-%20Black.aspx

Thanks for the paint link, think I will go with this though, as I only need a paint pen and apparently guards red is an exact match for the red brembo calipers. https://www.paintscratch.com/cgi-bin/order-form.cgi And according to a wheel calculator, I lost about 6mm of clearance with the 7.5in rim so i am doing 10mm spacers to keep the relative offset proportionate front/rear.

As I side note for the uninformed such as myself, the threaded rod, ahem, found in your frunk tool kit will help prevent damaging your calipers and rotors during wheels changes. https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/99957107430.html

The reason I was thinking 15 was to go ahead and fill out the wheel wells while you are at it. But the extra 4mm on the 10 will help with that already.
