Hi everyone. I am in the market for a 996 Mk1. One of the cars I am looking at has Forgestar F14 wheels that were added by the current owner. They look nice but the current owner put 8.5 inch rims with 225/40 R18 tires on the front and 9.5 inch rims with 265/35 R18 tires on the rear. These are the OEM tires sizes but not the standard rim sizes which were 7.5 and 10. I think he did this on the advise of Forestar due to their offset size. Any concerns with this setup for track use? Seems the front tires would be stretched. The rims are also only 1 inch different in width. He is factoring in the rims in his asking price but he still has the OEM twist wheels that he is including. If it were me I would have put on a nice set of Porsche Sport Design 18" wheels (8" on front and 10" on rear) with 225/40 R18 and 285/30 R18 tires. Thanks!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You will lose time with the heavier Sport Design wheels. Widths of the Forgestars should be fine and theoretically, you should get less understeer with that setup.
