The Mrs and I usually go for a fun Sunday drive every week. Sometimes just an hour, other days until dark. Always a mystery until we're on the road. Here are some pics from June 26th on a drive to the top of Mt Baker and a few other recent memorable drives in the past 6 weeks. I drive my 996 for business and get to travel on some of the best roads anywhere. Would also love to see where some of you have been lately.

Great pics! A couple from my recent drive to Lillooet and a day at the track (Pacific Raceway in the rain - still a fun day!):
Angeles Crest natl park, sometime last week.
Driving to the Okanagan for a week then heading for San Diego 2 weeks later and working our way back up the coast. Should make for some great pics. Love the shot of the car in the rain at the track Triple Black. We'll probably drive to Osoyoos this weekend via Duffy Lake/Lillooet/Lytton/Merritt/Princeton even if it rains and will see those curves again. Great roads. The Nat'l Forest looks amazing too Elumere. Maybe that will part of our drive south.
I was just at Trail Ridge Road in CO at 12,000 feet last weekend and didnt take any pictures..... damnit!
I rode the scooter over Trail Ridge two weekends ago. so there I actually was surprised at the lack of snow. This is all I got from last weekend. Marc

Even better is Rt 33 - Ojai to Maricopa. Fresh tarmac, the oil-layer is gone, and I passed maybe 2 cars for the entirety of that road. Close to perfect, really. Plus, Maricopa could double as a Mad Max backdrop, some of it.

Mad Joe Arpaio is more like it...

Wow, if we drive this amazing looking twisty snake of a road I'll make a point of not stopping, speeding, cussing, speaking Spanish, or praising Allah in Maricopa.
Last years trip into Wales Wales and no sheep!
still no sheep, must be all in doors
Wow, that must be so much fun, Tinker!

Amen... I mean...nevermind😆

Wouldn't that be fun if your car was pressurized! The road in Wales looks awesome. Reminds me of the San Bernardino Pass from Switzerland to Italy only not so steep. Wish I could have taken pics...

As a Swiss (living abroad), that pass is fantastic to drive. Sadly, back when I did live there, I had no Porsche.
Just does not disappoint but ya need at least a half day not including time for lunch.

S'all good. We're good for up to 1,000 miles a day in a pinch and we have a 10 day window. Last drive south from here got as far as Los Banos (how appropriate), 1,010 miles on day 1. Made it to LA Dismantlers by 10am on day 2 for a hardtop that matched my paint and interior. Fun trip and glad for the top here in the winter rain. The plan for this trip is to blast down and then take 8 days to find fun roads and places to drive back. Rt 33 has me reconsidering the route for the drive south...

Race all the way down south as you planned, then just push towards 33 on the last leg before entering LA. From Ojai get onto the 1, drive into Malibu in style..
smiles, you guys have got it. If you do not like the experience, I owe you a cold one or 12. Neptune's Net beckons.
Good thing that 996 has a taco wing. It keeps it firmly planted on the 747.

Looks better than the reality of it, single lane and quite narrow so no room for any errors or tail happy fun. Great pictures alround , love the desert shots, contrasts perfectly with mine. Either way for me the cars the real star of em all .
