Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The seats have one switch and one lever with a cable connected to a shock thingy. There is also a lever out front that allows the seat to move for and aft manually. Can someone explain the operation of these seats? What controls the tilt on the seat back? Where if any are the motors located? I am installing these in a 951 and it's starting to be a real pain....Thanks

POST 2Original post

I dont believe those are power seats, mine have 3 switches on the side, one for back front up down, one for seat back front and back, and one for lumbar support. For access to the back there are two levers (one on each side) for rear seat access! Those seats sound like the manual version!

POST 3Original post

I have a brand new 8 way power seat motor assembly with the switch. Both are new..bought it a year ago and never installed it...still has all the Porsche tags on it. If intersted...PM me. I don't have the car anymore. Chuck

POST 4Original post

I believe it's just power back adjustment (the vertical switch thing)... The rest is all manual. The horizontal lever actuates the cable that goes to the shock, which adjusts height. And the lever at the front of the seat is for the slider.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
