The floormats in my car have a circle of velcro-like material on the bottoms, but the floor carpeting doesn't have any matching circles to mate to- How do 996 floormats (from the factory) secure to the car? Or is my car missing something? I'm aware that Lloyd's mats have some way to hook into the seat rails or something, but for now I'd like to use my factory mats without them sliding up onto the gas pedal...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

there is a little screw in piece (mine are round) that go in the floor with velcro on top to grab that piece of fabric. If you feel around with your finger, I am sure you can find where they screw in. I would imagine the part is available from the dealer.
Excellent! Thanks Joe...
If you can't find your "mating" pieces that attach to the floor let me know. I am 99% I have an extra couple sets of those that you are welcome to have.
Dell, I thought you threw those out when you tossed the stock mufflers in the dumpster in Vegas. Are you going "dumpster diving" again?
You're never going to let me live that down are you? How many hail mary's and our father's must I say to receive forgiveness
No hail mary's or our father's were ever needed. Not getting the stock "cans" was really no big deal. I was VERY appreciative of your offer. The "dumpster diving" part of the story is what makes me smile every time I think about it. Sometimes I actually envision you standing on the edge of the dumpster, wearing a snorkel and some swim fins, getting ready to "dive in." There are some stories that are just too good to let die, and this (the "dumpster diving" part) is one of them!
I guess I get props for going back in (dumpster diving) to try and redeem myself.
Thanks Dell - if you've got them, I'll take them. Not having luck finding any for sale on the 'net. I could probably get them from the dealer if you can't find them. Adam
Let me check my stash out in the garage and I'll get right back to you.......
If you have the factory mats then this is what you need correct? They just screw in to the carpet. Do you need 2 or 4? I have and would be happy to send you all 4 but only if you need them for both sides (driver and pax).
Hey Dell- I need one for my driver's side floor...if you have any extra left over, can I have one too?
I have a total of 4.
I'm missing mine as well... Dell, any idea where I can buy these?
Have any of y'all tried the dealer? If these are $.50 pieces I'd hate to spend $1 to mail them. I got mine when I ordered a replacement set of mats from the dealer. They are included with the mats. I have never asked though if they are able to be purchased indivudally.
