Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

please see: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ice=&cardist=0 Not described in advert: Aftermarket wheels with less then 1200 miles on them. Short-Shifter and Alum racing pedels. Thanks for taking a look everyone.

POST 2Original post

Good looking car. Best of luck with your sale. 3 comments: 1) Price is bit high. I saw one at my local dealer for less than yours with same miles. 2) Take some better pics. They are grainy and blury and hard to determine what you are looking at (for example, is you a/c control silver? why does it look like it is not flush with the dash?) 3) Remove the "paid $88,000" from your listing. That screams desperation and trying to justify your asking price.

POST 3Original post

Every market is different in what can be requested for a price. Is this what the KBB is showing for a private sale?

POST 4Original post

I agree with most of what Dell said, except for price which I don't know enough about (it actually doesn't seem all that bad to me...). HOWEVER, the car is listed as a convertible, which it is not. You probably want to correct that, as you will lose buyers who search Autotrader with specifics... in my mind it's a coupe with a really big sunroof. :-) Pictures sell the car. Get a better "main" picture, not at ground level, but at eye level where most people see the car. If your camera can't do better, have a friend who has a good camera and knows how to use it take pics, or have a professional do it. KBB prices tend to be high. Michael

POST 5Original post

Nah, I've thought about it some more. The price is too high. The Atlanta market is probably more competitive than it is up here to boot. Don't tell Dell that he was right. He'll just get a swelled head...

POST 6Original post

ouch.....it hurts......head.......about.......to...........explode........

POST 7Original post

As soon as I saw Dell's sig associated with this post I knew he was telling someone they were asking too much for their car.

POST 8Original post

As soon as people start pricing based on empirical evidence instead of emotion or perceived worth then they will continue to be given honest opinions from the members here. Trust me, if somebody priced their car TOO LOW then I (as well as others) would ask why it was priced so low and that they could get more for it.

POST 9Original post

Shatter -- Good luck with the sale. Gotta agree with Dell that you're price is $5-7K+ too high. Having gone through the process a few months ago of evaluating what my Targa (same year, also located in Atlanta) was worth, you're looking at low 40's wholesale and high 40's retail (slightly lower, private party sale). Given the right buyer and the right moment, you never know. --M

I saw a Targa at my local dealership for 56800.. you saw one for a lower price. What does it really all mean? My selling price is based upon what I found on Autotrader, Ebay and Porsche.org. I thought I had listed my car $ 2000-3000 less then most with my miles. I would also hope that brand new wheels would possibly add a little value for right person. When I sold one of my 993`s, several people said the price was high, but within two weeks the car was sold to someone who really understood the value of a well maintained vehicle. Thanks ALL
