23-30k for the 99 and 00 in our area
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! Any chance on getting similar info. for the '02's? Thanks.
Assuming C2 Coupe, recent national data. price and mileage: Yr/Mi - Above - Avg - Below 99 - 30.2 - 25.2 - 20.2 Mi - 33.9 - 62.5 - 90.9 00 - 35.5 - 31.5 - 27.5 Mi - 22.8 - 38.6 - 54.2 Edit: Forgot 01 - 02 data: 01 - Cumlative data 3/2007 price/mi 34.6 47.6 02 - 39.7 - 34.4 - 29.0 Mi - 27.5 - 45.0 - 62.6
Those national numbers above seem to jive pretty much with our area. Keep in mind that cars tend to do a premium at the Exotic or Hi line sale due to higher auction fees etc. That is the best selection although....
You wouldn't happen to have that data for a C4 cab, from 99-02, would ya? Where do you get this info, anyway? tom
C4 Cab: Yr/Mi - Above - Avg - Below 99 - 35.0 - 31.3 - 27.5 Mi - 24.9 - 47.5 - 70.0 00 - 36.6 - 30.5 - 24.5 Mi - 27.2 - 50.0 - 72.8 01 - 43.5 - 37.2 - 30.8 Mi - 16.3 - 32.6 - 49.0 02 - 45.8 - 40.5 - 35.2 Mi - 25.1 - 41.4 - 58.0
I've seen the prices dropping like a falling knife on the early 996s the last couple of years and it has been unsettling a bit. That is until a couple of weeks a go when I thought I would look at some 996s advertised locally. Then everything started to make sence. I have a 50k mile '99 Cab and to find a car a clean, well cared for, etc as mine I had to find one as new as '05. Everything else had glaring defects that I could instantly pick up on. Thrashed interiors, cracked weather stripping, door dings, cracks in bumper covers, pitted windshields, curbed wheels, Chinese tires mounted, soiled and worn convertable tops, and it keeps on going. Next time I read a post regarding the super low price on an early 996 I will have a picture of what's really out there. A near pristine car and mechanically perfect one where eveything works, and all manuals are included, a new updated motor installed, should be worth more than Ebays cheapest example.
Bos, can you tell me what you are using as reference to get this info? Thanks in advance. Jack
I spent $39k on my 2000 c2, because it was in near mint condition, and still smelled new. Charts don't account for new smell, right? I agree with Nick. All cars are not equal, and if you really want one in particular, you wont mind paying a premium over "chart" value.
Dealers have access to a number of sources for sales data. My source was Manheim Auto Auction.
The data is from Manhiem. Auction numbers are just that... auction numbers. Cars that have no better place to go, per se, and I too agree that what ends up at auction is not the best "deal" to be had, despite the price.
here is my 1999 that I just bought. I paid $33900 at Manheim before adding wheels. came with chrome twist 18's. one rim was curbed. i did some paintless door ding repair. 1 owner car and came with manuals, spare key, super clean interior, hard top, all service records, new tires, tiptronic, wood steering wheel, built in K40, and full Strosek body kit. 39000 miles. car is in excellent mechanical condition. i attached photos off the truck washed out taken with my Treo and photos since the ding repair and new wheels i'm pretty satisfied.
