Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anyone been able to splice into the factory system in order to add an amp and subwoofer. I have the basic stereo system where I don't have the base speakers in the doors. I'm not looking to do a loud boom box style audio setup but just somethign so I can have a little more base to make up for the lack of door speakers. I have small box with a woofer to mount in the rear cubby behind the rear passanger seats. I already rand the wire and mounted an additional amp in the spare tire. I was going to go to a stereo store but before I do that I wanted to see if someone was able to splice into the standard CR220 radio system that came with the 99 C4's?

Being that HUs are so cheap, save yourself a headache and buy an aftermaket HU with a sub-out. Find an installer who knows what adapters to use and it should be plug-aand-play.
