Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, after doing a fair amount of reserach, and looking at a number of 996's, I picked up a '99 996 C4 Cab this last weekend. It is in near showroom condition, with 58K on the clock. Picked it up for $31K from a dealer that had it on his lot for 6 months as eye candy and finally wanted to move it. Never had a Cab before, so I'm pretty excited. Jury's out, though, whether it'll get by blood pumping as much as my Aprilia sportbike!

POST 2Original post

Welcome! Nice looking ride - someone has kept it looking shiny for sure Not sure the excitement will match a sports bike, but I think it'll certainly be pleasurable in many ways. I see chrome wheels - any other options or mods on the car?

POST 3Original post

Ya, we want more det's!! Options?? It's a beautiful car!! Steven Cole will be proud!!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just basic options, memory seats, all leather, hi-fi stereo (although it has an aftermarket head unit with an ipod connector in the console). 6-speed, of course. The dealer let me copy the pink from the original owner, who bought it new. I'll contact him in a couple of days when I get a list of questions together. I drove three C2's before I drove this beauty. Are all C4's that much more responsive off idle? This baby wants to go places in a hurry!

POST 6Original post

Congrats on the very shiny car. Looks like you got a pretty good deal on it too!

POST 7Original post

Very nice looking 911! Red/black/chrome really stands out! PS--Memory seats and full leather aren't basic options, so enjoy them!

POST 9Original post

I think that's a pretty good deal and a beautiful car! Congrats and welcome to the club!

POST 10Original post

+1 Memory-seats and full-leather are 2 of the most saught-after options!!

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ya think so, Don? I know I do! Just got back from lunch. Wouldn't you know I had to drive about 20 miles just to get a decent club sandwich

POST 12Original post

Congrats and Welcome to Rennlist! Very nice looking P-car!

POST 13Original post

Congratulations and welcome aboard. The chromies look great with the bright red paint.

POST 16Original post

Aye lad...tis' a beauty it is. Welcome aboard.

POST 18Original post

Excellent deal and great looking cab. Love the GR too! Enjoy!!

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Now I just need to contact the first owner (he traded it in for a Mercedes) to find out the skinny on exactly what has been done to the car. Considering the condition of the car, it appears that some goodies were removed during it's captivity in the dealers lot.... I found an Alpine CD changer remote in the console - no changer in the trunk, just a few wires... No wheel crests - previous owner was way too **** about his car to not have wheel crests. Wonder what else...

POST 20Original post

nice ride!!! put a B&M SSK...No.1 mod on the forum

POST 21Original post

Nice ride!! Congrats on the purchase. Hope the mod bug does not hit you too hard.

POST 22Original post

After looking at many different brands of cars, I bought a 2001 cabriolet with 26K miles. After having it for only a month, there are a few things that I know for sure: 1. this will not be my last Porsche 2. I can't believe I considered a corvette 3. I was unaware of "mod bugs," but I think I got it (I now know what a 'plenum' is) 4. This is a fantastic website
