Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I set up to have the new fabspeed sport package put on my car with one of our local mechanics. Today he calls me to tell me he's hearing that the check engine light will go on and stay on with high flow cats. Is this your experience fellow 996er's? I'd rather not have to deal with that and am considering skipping the whole thing and going with OEM.

POST 2Original post

I have high flow Fabspeed cats and not 1 CEL. Coming close to (or just past) two months of daily usage.

POST 3Original post

I had an 01 cab with B&B high flow mufflers and Dansk 100 cell highflow cats and did not have any problems. Had car for approx. one year before I sold it. High flow cats, however, makes the car much louder.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You guys are reassuring me big time! Frankly, I was surprised about this. I had my mind all set and was looking forward to waking up my neighbors every morning with sweet exhaust nector. Starting to look good for 2007 worst neighbor award winner again.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm bumping this one back up to see if I can get some more feedback. Thanks guys.

Cold feet still? Your last post sound like you were ready. The only exhaust modification that commonly causes CEL's are cat bypass pipes. Talk to your mechanic and see if this is what he was referring to. As I said, I have the Fabspeed cats as well as exhaust and I think you'll love the combo. Gurggle <sp> at idle, slightly louder than stock to 3000 rpm, and from there to WOT a full growl!
