Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I finally found pulled the trigger and got it! I have wanted one all of my adult life. I is sort of a family tradition. My grandfather, and my father have always had Targa's. I learned to drive in my dad's 1980 911SC Targa. He had that car from 1980 to 1997 when he finally replaced it with a 993 Targa. I think that the '80 had something like 350,000 miles on it. Mine is an 03 with 24,000 miles on it. LA traffic has driven me to buy a Tip. This will be my first automatic car since i learned to drive in 1982. I tried to post pics but I am under the limit... Ron

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll post pics just as soon at this board lets me... something about needing a minimum number of posts.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How many posts does it take before I can post pics?

POST 9Original post

POST 10Original post

Welcome to the very exclusive porsche club and the very very exclusive TARGA club. Once you go Targa you will never go back! Mine is an 03 too and you will love it.

POST 12Original post

Very nice Targa! Congrats and Welcome! Thanks for posting the pics!

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll post some in the morning.

POST 15Original post

Nice Targa and congrats! Before I got my current P-car I found a Targa in the same Silver and Black color combo for sale that I really wanted, but it sold before I could get my act together.

POST 16Original post

Beautiful car. Is that a GT3 front airdam? Love the overall aero look. Congrats! Piccia '02 Targa

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was told it is a GT3 front bumper but honestly I don't know if it is a Porsche bumper or not. The fit and finish appear factory but that doesn't mean it is.

POST 19Original post

I can't wait to see it with the Targa top removed. Is it a pain to remove it? Is it hard to store it in such a way that it won't be damaged?

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It is electric and simply retracts back.

POST 21Original post

Congrats, Ron! I know how you feel. I just picked up my first 911. I'm hooked.

POST 22Original post

"It is electric and simply retracts back." I cannot believe I didn't know that. But I'm glad I know it now. Thanks.

POST 23Original post

LOL! I like it. Congrats on the car! Looks good.

POST 24Original post

Sweet Targa! Welcome to the Targa club. (secretly all the others are jealous of us, even the GT3 and Turbo guys).

POST 25Original post

Hey Ben, now that you have had your car for a week or so, do you even remember what type of car you had before getting the 996? If not, then YES, YOU ARE HOOKED!
