Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I needed a cheap cup holder solution. I found a door mount model with both a suction cup and in door tab for added security from auto barn that was about $5. http://www.autobarn.net/acsmz.html I personally couldnt use center stack one becasue I already have the radio, amp and climate control. Additionally, I dont have any hole in my vents for the vent mounted one. This was a cheap solution and if fits fairly well between the door grab and the dash. A little awkward with the ignition but that no big deal __________________

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I couldn't find any holes in my vents so I assumed that I cannot use them

POST 3Original post

Sorry, I deleted my post because I saw you have a 2001.

I don't really love the look of that big holder on the door. You want to consider this: http://www.ultimatecupholders.com/ I've been very pleased with mine, and ingeniously, it's on the floor so that condensation or spills don't get all over the door or dash.

POST 5Original post

Dominick, it does look cheap as you stated....I pass.

POST 6Original post

I recently got two of the ultimates. They work fine but wiggle a little in place. It's best if you can leave your seat in one position (i.e. not shared with two drivers... read "wife."

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Agreed!!! I had not seen that one

POST 9Original post

Like you, I learned about it on Rennlist (worth the price of admission) in a thread a while back. This forum has EVERYTHING!

POST 13Original post

I just got my ultimate in the mail- ordered black but got silver- looks ok but it moves a little but not enough to matter- I am happy.

POST 16Original post

I had my 2 Ultimates on my 528i but now I transferred one to my 996, I just need one in the car just in case the wife rides with me

POST 18Original post

I didn't know that Bimmer parts also fit on a Porsche!

POST 19Original post

If you look closely, you'll notice that they are all silver. The color option is simply for the color of the felt lining....light grey or black.

POST 20Original post

that one looks great.... looks like i need to get one as well....

Here is a link to my cup holder mod. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ght=cup+holder Pretty easy and they work great. The passenger side will take 10 minutes the driver side was about 45. Kris
