Sometimes (maybe every other week) when i an about half way off the clutch in first, the car will make a strange rubbing/scratching sound for a small range of the clutch engaging. It goes away when i turn off the car and leave it for a while.... The clutch otherwise seems just fine. Its a stock '03 C4S and the car has about 30k miles. Any idea what it could be?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

anybody?
Maybe a creaking sound? If so, clutch booster spring or clutch linkages. Mine does it, a lot of others too, apparently.
