Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My headliner has begun to rattle when the sunroof is open. I can stop the rattle by putting my hand on the liner just behind my head. If feels like a metal bar that stretches across the interior roof to hold the liner in place. Has anyone removed the headliner? If so, is this a DIY job? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Welcome to the Wide World of Rattles brought to you by the new and improved PORSCHE....nothing else comes close. Just had my shop take mine down to fix rattles...1,000 miles later there baackkk My 928 had 140,000 on it when I sold it and not 1 rattle. Man, how did we forget so much?

POST 4Original post

My rear headliner strip rattles like crazy because it's loose on one end. One of these days I'll bring it in.

POST 5Original post

Mine 2003 996 had the same problem, a rattle while traveling over bumps with the sunroof open. The dealer replaced a loose or broken bracket between the headliner and behind the sunroof.
