lets play "identify a car problem via an internet post" game my '03 C2 cab developed a weird sound yesterday. lets see if i can describe it. it sounds like small stones bouncing around inside the engine. its metallic and very intermittent without any pattern (something like: click click pause pause click pause click click click pause pause click) the sound is there when the car is idle or at low rpms (with higher rpms exhaust is too loud to hear it). it sounds like something serious is broken or about to break. hopefully whatever the sound is, it is covered by warranty. anybody knows what it could be? thanks...

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
