Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am currently looking at '02-03 996 coupes. Given the multiplicity of available options, I want to be sure how a particular car is equipped. What is the "official" name for the white sticker on the underside of the front decklid that lists the codes? I believe Porsche stopped putting this item on the 911 recently - what year did this occur? If I have the VIN, is there a source (dealer or other) that can tell me the option load on that car? Finally, when (if ever) did the following options become standard on the 911? Most but not all of the cars I'm looking at seem to have them: PSM Xenons Bose stereo Thanks.

POST 2Original post

None of those 3 options listed above were ever standard on a naturally asperated 996. PSM is now standard on all 997 models, and Xenons are standard on the 997 S variant.

POST 3Original post

The years that you are looking at, 02-03, should all have the options listed on the sticker in the trunk. I just bought an 02 and every car I looked at had it unless it was removed.
