Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My battery gauge is a little under 14 amps/watts/jigawatts Is this good or bad--car is fine--I drive it once a week for 30mins or so. Is this a slow death or ok Car is 2 yrs old 6600 miles Thanks Mike

POST 2Original post

13.9 is normal, as I understand it. Seems fine.

POST 3Original post

Check your water...hot temps can kill a battery over time and they dont last long. Do yourself a favor and get a Optima Red Top...never think about the voltage and water again. Plus if you spill water, no battery acid eating away your paint.

POST 4Original post

For the record it is Volts, electrical "pressure" not amps which is the current flow as a result of the Volts With the engine running it is the charging system volts (typically above 13.4), with the ignition on before starting, it is the battery volts (should be above 12)

POST 5Original post

If you have doubts, pick up a battery minder from your local dealer. Plugs directly into the lighter socket.
