Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The wife and I flew to Denver today and picked up our new to us 911. Considering the price a lesser optioned car went for today in BaT, we are super happy. The seller had all the important documents and was a super custodian of this car. Crazy thing though everywhere I go this year for fun, snow!!!!

POST 2Original post

Congrats! She's a beauty! Enjoy that trip back to Dallas, I was just there this week, and the weather was definitely better than what you're seeing in Denver!

POST 3Original post

Nice work! Don't worry about the weather. Yes it's snowing in Denver, but the ground is too warm to hold any accumulation as long as you are not heading up in elevation. Since you're going south to Dallas, just cruise until roads are dry and/or temps are back above 40, then let 'er rip

POST 5Original post

Congrats on your new Porsche. Yes, those wheels look very nice especially with the snow coming down.

POST 7Original post

Congrats! I drove my car from Reno to Chicago after buying it over three days, a bunch of snow along the way!

POST 8Original post

Congrats...a beauty - from a proud 2000 guards red (convertible) owner...wish we could take a pic of both cars at once! Enjoy...

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Snow really bad today. No way to cross raton pass safely. Don't trust us 160 without knowing more. We are going to stay in Trinidad Co the rest of today. Tomorrow looks like it will get above freezing fast. This car will probably never see weather like this again.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Starting out this morning. South of Pueblo still tons of snow and more coming.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Winter storm Ursa being very cruel to my 996. Better to stop and get her detailed later than crack her up on the drive home. My route closed due to weather shortly after I stopped.

POST 13Original post

Congrats on the acquisition! You are going to love it. It must not be a C4 or you would have been back here in God's country already. Snow be damned! Cheers, D.

POST 14Original post

Depends on the tires. The summer ones are squirrely in more than an inch or so...

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

C2. No car goes when the roads are closed which plenty are between here and Amarillo. michelin pilot super sports. And honestly I've drive quite a few rear wheel drive performance cars in bad weather. The 996 and tires behaved way better than expected. Not gonna risk new car wife and daughter on this weather. Pass should be good tomorrow between 10 am and noon. Very pleased with how composed car has been and glad it will never see roads like this again.

POST 16Original post

Good. Well be safe. I am actually flying to Denver in a few minutes and turning to Anchorage. I am sure your car will enjoy it's new home in Texas much better. Well, except in the summer. a little hotter down in Dallas. D.

POST 17Original post

I just watched the weatherman here in KC go on and on about that storm and how bad it is. Be careful. On a happier note - sweet ride! Congrats! You could not have picked a better color!! Plus the extra 25 hp in the factory Guards Red Performance Package ("GRPP") car makes it even sweeter. Enjoy!

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

wow! Finally made it to TX and we are out of the storm area and road closures and detours. The car was superb, but she is embarrassingly dirty now. I got sick of strangers asking how she handled in the snow. She will never see weather like this again. TX inspection and car wash coming up tomorrow. Be home in DFW late tonight. Wife can takeover driving a while now too. I need the break.

POST 19Original post

Glad you made it! The weather in Texas is amazing right now. Take a break and then spend a few hours tomorrow just looking at her. Cheers, D.

It will have to wait a few saturdays. I catch a plane on Friday for an extended work assignment. Over 110 days away already scheduled this year. You still have a great 996. We both win. At 18k, I just had to jump.

POST 23Original post

What a blast! Congrats on the acquisition and the adventure!

Hmm, looks like from the Craigslist ad that you're encouraging joyrides. I may be in Allen soon to visit my sister . . . GLWS.

Buried in Trinidad Co since Raton pass was closed. A couple photos my wife took of adventure and after car spa today. Having driven lots of high performance American cars in adverse weather I cannot compliment Porsche enough. I 25 after raton pass pretty awful conditions. US 412 wasn't much better to US87 which had lots of closures. US87 reopened literally just as we got to Clayton NM south only (way we were going). Safe and sound in driveway at home. She is now in the garage next to project 951.

POST 26Original post

Glad you made it home with your family and new to you C2.

I see no dings in that photo. My wife met me at lunch today (she drove 996 to her work) and I saw a huge *** door ding as she was driving off. WTF, do people have no soul anymore?

POST 28Original post

Porsche envy. And little or no respect for the property of others.

POST 29Original post

Congrats on your purchase. We seem to have purchased the same car at the same time! I just bought a 00 C2 in Guards Red. I hope you were kidding about your door ding. It's unfortunate how people think. Mine came with the original tires and I just put new tires on it. The service guy couldn't stop talking about how much he liked the car. I told him the next time he's looking for a used Camry, pick up the cleanest 996 he can find. Not only will you have a 911, but you'll save some money as well. His jaw hit the counter. Unfortunately, most of the folks in this country just look at the Porsche (while driving their used Camry's) and feel a seething hatred and jealousy.

doesnt cost Camry money to maintain unfortunately

You don't have to tell the whole truth. The crack dealer doesn't tell you what you'll be doing in six months to support your habit either...

POST 33Original post

Looks great! What wheels are those? Looks like sport design but not quite.
